Frequently Asked Questions About Websites & Automation

Everything clients ask before work begins — price, timeline, who writes the copy, what happens after launch. If your question isn't here, send it directly and I'll reply the same day.

How much does a website cost?
A simple one-page site starts at 300 KM, and a business site with more sections and SEO starts at 500 KM. The exact price depends on the number of pages, whether I receive the copy and images or prepare them myself, and functionality like online bookings. You get a fixed-price quote before any work begins — the full price list with what's included in each item is here.
How long does building a website take?
A simple site usually takes 7 to 10 days, a business site 2 to 4 weeks. The biggest part of the wait is usually the materials — copy, photos and logo. If you have them ready at the start, the timeline shortens noticeably. Web applications and automation are measured in weeks, and the timeline is only set after process analysis.
Who writes the copy and prepares the images?
You can provide them yourself, or I prepare them for an extra fee. If you have nothing yet, we start with a short questionnaire about your business, and I write a first draft for you to approve. For photos, I handle editing and optimization; if you don't have your own, we arrange either licensed images or a photoshoot.
What if I already have a website?
I can speed up an existing site, fix its mobile display, clean up its SEO, or take over maintenance — without a full rebuild. Very often the problem gets solved without building a site from scratch, and that's always the cheaper option I'll suggest first if it's workable. Send the link and within 48 hours you'll get a free analysis with concrete findings.
What is business process automation, and do I need it?
It's replacing repetitive manual work with software — for example, instead of typing every quote in Word, the system generates and sends it on its own. It pays off as soon as you do some task the same way more than once a week. Process analysis is free: I look at how you currently work and tell you what's realistically worth automating, and what isn't worth touching. More on the business automation page.
What are a domain and hosting, and are they billed separately?
A domain is your site's address (e.g. yourcompany.com) and is paid annually, usually 20 to 50 KM. Hosting is the space where the site lives and is billed monthly or annually. I can register and configure both in your name, so ownership always stays yours — even if you ever switch to someone else. That's deliberate; nobody should be able to hold your domain hostage.
Do you work with individuals, not just companies?
Yes. I work with registered companies, trades and sole proprietors, but also with private individuals. I adapt the collaboration and invoicing to your situation.
What happens after the website is finished?
The site is yours — you get access to everything: the domain, hosting, code and accounts. Maintenance is optional and runs as a monthly subscription of 50 to 100 KM, covering updates, backups, security patches and small content changes. If you'd rather maintain it yourself, that's fine too, and I'll show you how.
Will I be able to edit the content myself?
Depends what we agree on. For sites where content changes rarely, I make the edits myself and it's included in maintenance — faster and cheaper than paying for an editing system you'd use twice a year. If you change content often (menu, price list, gallery, posts), I build in an admin panel and show you how to use it.
Does the site work on a phone?
Yes, and it's the starting point, not an afterthought. Most visits in Bosnia come from a phone, so everything is designed and tested on a small screen first, then on desktop. I test on real devices, not just a browser simulator.
How fast does a site show up on Google?
Indexing takes a few days to two weeks after launch and submission to Google Search Console. Ranking for competitive terms is a different story — realistically two to six months with consistent work on content and local profiles. Anyone promising a #1 ranking in seven days is selling you something else. More on the SEO optimization page.
Do you work outside Banja Luka?
Yes. I'm based in Banja Luka, but I work with clients across Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro. The whole process can run online — a video call, email and Viber are enough. If you're in Banja Luka and prefer meeting in person, that's naturally an option too.
How does payment work, and do you require a deposit?
Standard is 50% upfront and 50% at launch. For larger projects we split it into phases, billed as each phase completes. For companies I issue an invoice; for individuals we arrange whatever works for you. No hidden costs — what's in the quote is what you pay.
What if I don't like the design?
That's why design comes before development. You first get a visual concept, and we go through a round of revisions until it's right. Only once you approve the look do I start building. This avoids the worst-case scenario — finishing a site only to find out it's not what you wanted.
Why a hand-coded site instead of an off-the-shelf theme?
Off-the-shelf themes and visual page builders carry a pile of code your site doesn't use, so they load slowly and need constant updates for security. When I hand-code a site, it only contains what you actually need — hence the difference in speed you can verify yourself through PageSpeed on this very site. If you need to publish content often yourself, I build in an admin panel; you don't need an off-the-shelf system for that.
